Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson suffered a brutal ACL tear in the team’s final regular-season game in the 2024 NFL campaign, greatly dampening his 2025 outlook. However, Watson was seen riding the bike to training camp on Wednesday, giving Green Bay fans a source of optimism about his availability once the season starts.
But Watson is also on the active/Physically unable to perform list (PUP). It remains to be seen whether the former North Dakota State wideout will be on the field in Week 1 of the 2025 season, but for now, it’s enough for many fans to see him doing work on the field in training camp.
The Packers are clearly being careful with Watson, given the nature of his injury. There is also no need for them to rush him back, and if he were moved to the reserve/PUP list, he would have to miss four weeks of football in the regular season.
Should that be the case, the earliest Watson would see action would be in a Week 6 meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals at Lambeau Field. The Packers will play the Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys from Week 1 to Week 4 before a bye in Week 5.
Christian Watson’s exchange with a Green Bay Packers fan offers hope

In one interaction with a fan on Wednesday, Watson provided an encouraging outlook about his return timeline.

Fan to Christian Watson: “When are you coming back?!”
Watson with a smirk: “As soon as I can!”
The WR is out here doing sprints and resistance band work!
Watson, who is entering a contract year, has amassed 1,653 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 98 receptions and 172 targets through 38 games since the Packers selected him in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft.
