The Green Bay Packers have been missing the presence of wide receiver Christian Watson over the last few weeks. Watson has missed more time due to another hamstring injury, this time suffered on the game-clinching drive against the Kansas City Chiefs.
While it seemed like the injury wasn’t as serious as the injury that held him out earlier this season, Watson has missed a lot of time. Hopefully, he will be able to make his return against the Chicago Bears.
In a game that is a win-and-in situation against a bitter rival, the Packers will need all of their best players available. Getting Watson back on the field would be a huge step in the right direction.
Green Bay Packers Provide Massive Christian Watson Injury Update
Speaking to the media about the upcoming matchup with the Bears, head coach Matt LaFleur gave fans an update on Watson. To say that the update is a huge source of optimism for the talented wideout would be an understatement.
“I know he had a good week last week, and his ability to run. Hopefully we can stack that and have him available Sunday. Because he’ll definitely bring a spark.”
Watson has only played in nine games so far this season. In those appearances, he has caught 28 passes for 422 yards and five touchdowns.
Prior to re-injuring his hamstring, Watson was showing signs of becoming the Packers’ No. 1 wideout once again. Against the Chiefs alone, Watson caught seven passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers alone show the kind of impact that he can make when he’s healthy.
Expect to hear more information about Christian Watson’s status for Week 18 against the Bears in the near future. The Packers seem optimistic about getting him back on the field, which would provide a major boost at just the right time.
