The Green Bay Packers do not have an abundance of high-level players hitting the free agency market this spring, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some big decisions to be made. ESPN recently released their list ranking the top 50 free agents, and while no Packers were included, there was one notable name in the “Just Missed” section.
Green Bay Packers Center Josh Myers Ranked As a Top 3 Free Agent at His Position
Green Bay’s Josh Myers was included as an honorable mention on the list. The 2021 2nd round pick out of Ohio State was a day-one starter for the Pack at center. Although he has dealt with several big injuries, Myers has been a fairly reliable player during his four-year career. With his rookie contract expired, Myers is now an unrestricted free agent.
At age 26, Myers figures to be due a multi-year deal with an APY of around 6 or 7 million dollars. He figures to command a deal comparable to that of Carolina’s Austin Corbett, Las Vegas’ Andre James, or Miami’s Aaron Brewer. However, Myers’ injury history could dampen his value. He even had an injury scare in the playoff loss against Philadelphia, but thankfully, reports have come out since that say Myers is “all good.”
#Packers center Josh Myers is ‘amazingly all good’ after what looked like a severe leg injury suffered Sunday in Philly, per source. Myers has swelling but no other issues. Set to enter free agency in good shape.

While Myers missed out on ESPN’s Top 50, he was one of three centers mentioned in the list. Atlanta Falcons center Drew Dalman came in at 27. Dalman is also 26 years of age and has been great during his time in the ATL, and even though he only played nine games this year, he is a very complete player who, according to ESPN’s Fowler, could be due a massive contract that would put him near the top of the center rankings.
At #45, the second center in the top 50 is Indianapolis Colts veteran Ryan Kelly. The former Alabama player has been a stalwart in his career, but at age 32, many teams could feel that he does not have many high-level years left. The 4-time Pro Bowler is likely in for a short-term deal. Indy had rookie Tanor Bortolini perform well when called upon in 2024, so some feel that Kelly’s time as a Colt may be over.
Will Josh Myers Be Re-signed?
Myers is a team leader and steady player – one who Green Bay is likely keen to re-sign. The Packers currently have 2024 5th round pick Jacob Monk playing backup to Myers, although two-time Pro-Bowl guard Elgton Jenkins also played some snaps at center this year. Given this gap in experience, Myers seems even more valuable. His return to Green Bay seems quite likely.
Other Notable NFC North Free Agents
The Packers’ division rivals have several names on ESPN’s top 50 list. The Chicago Bears had guard Teven Jenkins, who had an up-and-down year, listed at 41, where aging wide receiver Keenan Allen just made the list at 49. Allen was relied upon fairly heavily by rookie quarterback Caleb Williams but is clearly not the player he once was.
The Detroit Lions’ Carlton Davis is one of the top corners set to be on the market. At 28, Davis has enough ball in front of him that teams will likely be lining up to sign the veteran. Detroit’s Kevin Zeitler also made the list. The long-time guard has continued to be solid wherever he goes despite his age.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings had a whopping 5 players listed, including former Packers running back Aaron Jones. Quarterback Sam Darnold was near the top of the list due to his positional value, although two shaky performances to end the season could scare some teams off. Swing tackle Cam Robinson figures to be available given the return of Christian Darrisaw from injured reserve. Lastly, Vikings defensive backs Cam Bynum and Byron Murphy could be in for big paydays after impressing in 2024.
