The Green Bay Packers have moved on from much of their older talent that has built the team over the past 5 years. The youth movement was fully in place when future hall-of-fame QB Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets. Since then the Green Bay Packers have also moved on from Rodgers’ blindside blocker David Bakhtiari, superstar running back Aaron Jones, and former All-Pro De’vondre Campbell.
All of these players took a different approach to the media. Aaron Rodgers was a long time coming and he still speaks on the Green Bay Packers with respect, Aaron Jones was seemingly abrupt with conflicting reporting on what exactly happened, and De’Vondre Campbell has gone on to say he “wasn’t used properly” by the Green Bay Packers. David Bakhtiari has been the newest addition to the media frenzy, and he took an opportunity to praise his short-time quarterback Jordan Love.
Former Green Bay Packers LT David Bakhtiari Speaks On Wisconsin Radio Show
David Bakhtiari was the Green Bay Packers left tackle for 11 years, he will likely make the Pro Football Hall Of Fame for his efforts with the Green Bay Packers. Bakhtiari battled injuries in his last couple of years with the team, culminating with his release from the team in the 2024 off-season.
On the Wisconsin ESPN radio show hosted by sportswriter Jason Wilde and former Green Bay Packer Mark Tauscher, David Bakhtiari opened himself to answer questions regarding his future and his time with the Green Bay Packers.
He gave much thanks to the Green Bay Packers fans giving much appreciation to the city he was drafted to. He talked about regrets about not doing an invasive knee injury earlier. He also spoke highly of the new quarterback Jordan Love, and said more of what we have heard from multiple players.
“He’s a resilient guy…You have to tip your hat to him for the ability to keep chopping the wood.. keep getting better… Jordan’s a guy you want to root for, he’s such a good guy, such a humble dude… it sucks I didn’t get more time with him.”- David Bakhtiari said about Jordan Love to the WIlde and Tausch radio show.
He was also asked about a potential contract for Jordan Love, questioned if Jordan should get 50 million a season on a new contract.
“I mean I hope so, I always advocate for the players… If you don’t pay him what are you going to do Green Bay…He’s a fantastic young acending player, he’s an unbelievable person, he’s great in the community… If he is asking for $50(million dollars per year) then (the Green Bay Packers) can make it work”
The Impression Of Jordan Love
Green Bay Packers fans around the world would agree with his sentiment, given Jordan Love’s impressive first season starting as the Green Bay Packers quarterback. With a historic playoff win and over 4000 yards passing, running one of the best offensive machines in the entire NFL.
This has been put on notice by the league. Both Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney, star signings for the Green Bay Packers this offseason, cited Jordan Love as a reason to come to Green Bay.
“This is a competitive league and you need an elite quarterback to have a chance. I believe he is a great quarterback… i heard he is a great leader i’ve heard great thinks about him.”- Xavier McKinney when asked about Jordan Love
” I seen him make some throws i was like ‘yeah a lot of people cant do that’, running backwards on one foot and slinging it on a dime… that kind of got me excited… the grit he plays with.. yeah i’m very excited”- Josh Jacobs on Jordan Love’s impact on his decision to sign with the Green Bay Packers.
The trend we can examine all throughout the offseason for the Green Bay Packers is the fact that everybody has their eye on Jordan Love, and everyone is impressed.
