The Green Bay Packers went toe-to-toe with the NFC North-leading and dominant Detroit Lions, and have the look of a team capable of mounting a legitimate charge at a Super Bowl, but have already been part of history during the 2024 NFL season.
That’s because last Thursday night’s game was the largest audience ever for a Thursday Night Football Game on Amazon Prime.
While the Packers came up short, falling to their bitter division rivals, 34-31, setting the Amazon Prime streaming audience record is a testament to Green Bay’s fanbase and the allure not only of the loaded Lions and all of their star-power but the intrigue surrounding Jordan Love’s continued emergence and the supporting cast that general manager Brian Gutekunst and staff have built around him.
Packers a Prime Time Drawing Card
Green Bay has been no stranger to the national stage, and streaming spotlight this season, after opening up the 2024 campaign against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil, in a contest that was broadcast exclusively on Peacock, Comcast/NBC’s standalone streaming platform as well as playing the Thanksgiving nightcap against the Miami Dolphins at Lambeau Field.
Likewise, the Packers will be appearing in prime time each of the next two weeks, traveling to Seattle to take on the Seahawks on Sunday Night Football in Week 15 on NBC, and returning home to host the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau, in Week 16.
