The Green Bay Packers are coming up quickly on the 2023 NFL Draft and still have not traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. Without a doubt, the entire trade involves draft picks for this year’s draft and next years draft. It could get wild and include draft picks for the 2025 NFL Draft. In any case, the two sides are still working on what the compensation for the future Hall of Fame quarterback should be. Some are beginning to believe that the talks could take right up to the draft. If this were to be the case, Bleacher Report has an idea of what an Aaron Rodgers trade would look like.
The Green Bay Packers Could Wait Until the NFL Draft to Trade Aaron Rodgers

Bleacher Report‘s Kristopher Knox wrote an article that listed seven realistic draft day trades. The second-to-last trade he proposed finally brought a conclusion to the Rodgers saga:
“If a deal isn’t done before Round 1, it might just happen on opening night. New York currently holds the 13th overall pick in the draft. If the Jets don’t love the players available in that draft slot, they may decide that offering it to Green Bay is the right course of action.
“The Jets also have a pair of second-round selections after trading wideout Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns. One or both of those selections could become more enticing to the Packers as Round 1 unfolds.
“If, for example, Green Bay wants to trade up from No. 15 for a specific prospect, it might agree to deal Rodgers for the 42nd and/or 43rd selection to upgrade its trade capital. Alternatively, the Packers might find that enough top-end talent is still available as Day 1 comes to a close and those Day 2 picks are more valuable than previously thought.
“It certainly feels like a Rodgers trade will get done on or before the draft, but the Packers could afford to wait. Rodgers is due a $58.3 million option bonus, but that doesn’t have to be paid until the start of the regular season.”
Brian Gutekunst has already stated that he is not going after the Jets’ first round pick (number 1 overall). However, a collection of Day Two picks would be something that the Packers would really like. Multiple picks in the second round would allow them to address the multiple positional needs that they have and/or build depth on the offensive line. There are plenty of tight ends and wide receivers that are projected to be drafted in the second round that Green Bay would do well to pick.
Whatever the package Green Bay receives, it will be nice to have this saga behind us.
