It will be strange for several Green Bay Packers fans to see Aaron Jones carry the pigskin while not wearing the Packer green. He’s been a fixture on the Green Bay offense ever since he entered the league in 2017, so to see him play for another team would take some time to get used to.
To make things worse for some, he’s returning to Lambeau Field as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. The quality of his performances for the Vikings through the first three weeks is something Packers fans are familiar with and will be afraid of when the squads square up on Sunday.
However, fans may be happy to hear that he fondly recalls his time with the Packers. He has plenty of stories to share about his time with the Packers, While he made a daring declaration ahead of his return to Wisconsin, he has one thing to say to his former team and their rabid fans.
Aaron Jones shares his sweet message to the Green Bay Packers ahead of his Vikings’ Week 4 visit
Jones talked about his thoughts and sentiments about his former team in a piece he wrote for The Players’ Tribune. He shared his story and how the Packers were there when his dad—one of the most important figures in his life—passed away.
He wrote that he will always be a Packer at heart:
That’s the biggest thing I want to write here, not just to the Packers organization but really to all of Green Bay. Thank you. It’s going to feel strange being on that visiting sideline for the first time, and being on the other side of this NFC North thing in general — but it’s ALL love, and it’s so much gratitude. Thanks for “betting” on me, riding with me, hashtagging for me, and everything else.
Thanks for SEEING me.
No G on the helmet Sunday, always one in my heart.
Aaron Jones will be arriving at Lambeau on Sunday in red-hot form: he ran for 228 yards and one rushing TD through 42 carries. You can count on Jones to try and show his love for the Packers by bringing his A-game against his former team.
Packers fans may hope that he shows his loyalty to the Packers by having an off night, though.
