On Sunday night, Aaron Rodgers exited the game against the Philadelphia Eagles with an apparent rib injury. Subsequently, Jordan Love entered the game to replace an injured Rodgers in the fourth quarter. Love played extremely well, completing six of his nine passes for 113 yards and one touchdown. His most notable play was a 63 yard touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Christian Watson.
What is eerie about this situation is that almost 15 years ago to the day, November 29, 2007, Rodgers replaced an injured Brett Favre in a game against the Dallas Cowboys. Rodgers was a first round pick, drafted to learn from Favre and eventually take the reins of the Packers offense. A similar situation might be happening right now in Green Bay with Jordan Love after his performance on Sunday night.
Symmetry Between Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre, and Jordan Love
On November 29, 2007, Aaron Rodgers replaced Brett Favre after he injured his throwing arm. Rodgers led two scoring drives and gave the Packers a chance to win the game, but eventually lost to Dallas. Many believed that this was the game that Rodgers showed Packers fans that he could be a worthy successor to Favre. That offseason, Green Bay parted ways with Favre and moved on with their new franchise quarterback, Rodgers.
On November 27, 2022, former first round pick Jordan Love replaced Rodgers after he injured his ribs. Love led two scoring drives, and cut the Packers’ deficit from 11 to seven points. The Packers eventually lost 40-33 to the Eagles. Love looked comfortable, however, it’s still way too early to tell if he will follow a similar path that Rodgers did.
However, could this be the game that gives Packers fans faith with their future quarterback situation?

Big difference, even though Love scored, it was only one touch down. If some had dreams that the Pack was back like in 2007, they were day dreaming. This is as far as the coincidence goes. I will go ahead and say it: Love does not look ready to take the reigns.
Rodgers has a broken thumb why play him let him sit and heal and find out how Love handles starting. Obviously not enough to say good or bad with the time he played.
