The Atlanta Hawks poured cold water on the hottest team in the NBA on Wednesday as they defeat the Milwaukee Bucks who coming into the game was on a seven-game winning streak. Doc Rivers is unfazed though.
The Bucks were just not there in the game as they were beaten in every quarter by their hosts before wrapping things up at 119-104.
Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo were reliable as usual as the put up 25 and 31 points, respectively.
The loss came a day after the Bucks seem to have convinced themselves that they are no longer struggling.
Head coach Doc Rivers said that there was zero panic in them when they were 1-7 to start the season.
Like, nope. Zero. Our panic meter and everyone around here said zero and that’s where it’s always been,” Rivers said in an interview with Yahoo! Sport after their NBa Cup win over the Detroit Pistons.
Lillard had the same sentiment.
Frustration, but not panic,” he said. “We had a good camp. Everybody came in, in shape. We was ready, and it just didn’t click right away. There was frustration but there wasn’t concern.”
Should Milwaukee Bucks start panicking again after Hawks loss?
The Hawks defeat saw the Bucks’ recurring problem take over. The bench.
Delon Wright and Bobby Portis only had six points each and were the main topic amongst Bucks fans for their list performance.
One way that panic is manifesting is when they start asking around to trade for better players. Should they do it?
Rivers is not worried. He just think their listless performance is because of the fact that they are playing a back-to-back.
“I thought we were dead-legged most of the game. We didn’t think well, which is a direct sign of fatigue. Didn’t execute very well. Our passes were really late,” he said as quoted by The Athletic’s Eric Nehm.
The Bucks remain in the fifth spot of Eastern Conference standings with the loss. Next up for them are the Boston Celtics who already beat them twice this season.
