The Green Bay Packers cut right to the chase Friday afternoon on the status of Christian Watson against the Chicago Bears in Week 1 Sunday. Watson has been held out of practice with the team all week as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
Reports surfaced Friday morning Watson was not participating fully with the team. Beat reporters seemed to suggest he would miss Sunday’s game.
The Green Bay Packers rule out Christian Watson

According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Watson is ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Bears. Romeo Doubs is questionable to play.

This couldn’t come at a worse time for the Packers offense as quarterback Jordan Love makes his second-ever NFL start. The Packers pass-catching core of tight ends and wide receivers are mostly rookies and second-year players. Watson, arguably their best second-year target, will be a big miss for Love on Sunday.
