Manager David Ross recently provided an encouraging update on his progress.
The Chicago Cubs gave an update on the health of Marcus Stroman (MLB News).
Currently Marcus Stroman is Arizona focusing on rehabilitation. David Ross indicated that on Sunday, September 3 that he would be throwing a bullpen session. According to other reports he had started playing long toss earlier in the week, so this will be his first bullpen session.
Moving forward the plan for Marcus Stroman is still uncertain and will depend upon how he responds after his first bullpen. He likely will require a few sessions including facing live hitters and potentially a minor league rehab start or two before returning to the Cubs.
If all goes well it appears possible that Marcus Stroman could be back with the Cubs for the last couple weeks of the regular season in which Chicago is looking to hold onto a playoff spot (Wild Card) and catch up to the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central Standings.
