After a slow start to their season, the Milwaukee Bucks are gaining steam as they defeated the Washington Wizards recently. In turn, head coach Doc Rivers dropped an honest review of the team’s performance and what it’ll mean for them.
In a thrilling matchup, Giannis Antetokounmpo showcased his extraordinary talent, leading Milwaukee to a 124-114 victory over the Washington Wizards. This win marked the team’s sixth consecutive triumph and demonstrated their resurgence after a challenging start to the season. Antetokounmpo shone brightly, recording a remarkable 42 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists, achieving his first career 40-point triple-double.

Antetokounmpo’s efficiency was impressive, as he shot 15 of 24 from the field and made 12 of 17 free throws. His ability to dominate both offensively and defensively was pivotal in securing the win. Supporting him in the effort was Damian Lillard, who contributed 25 points and 10 assists, further solidifying Milwaukee’s offensive firepower.
Despite the Wizards struggling with their performance, they managed to keep pace for much of the game. Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 31 points, while Malcolm Brogdon added 29 points and 11 rebounds. However, Washington’s youth showed in critical moments, particularly during a crucial stretch in the fourth quarter when they failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
A key moment occurred when Poole missed a potential go-ahead three-pointer, allowing the team to respond with a 10-0 run that sealed their victory. This win brought Milwaukee’s record to 10-9, marking a significant turnaround after a difficult start to the season.
Doc Rivers Drops Honest Review of Milwaukee Bucks’ Win Against Washington Wizards

Although Milwaukee won, Rivers thought there was something they could have done different. His take can be seen in a tweet posted by Eric Nehm on X.
Doc Rivers: “I didn’t think we started the game out right. We just kind of came out and played and then we got into the game. But you take wins like this because these are the games early in the season we would have lost. These games are good teachers for us.”
Meanwhile, Rivers praised Antetokounmpo after his outstanding performance against Wizards. He highlighted how the two-time MVP’s playmaking ability enhances the team’s dynamics, making it difficult for opponents to defend against him.

This impressive display comes after Antetokounmpo returned from a knee injury, demonstrating his resilience. As the Bucks continue their winning streak, Giannis’s all-around contributions are vital to their success this season. Nevertheless, the team is expected to take heed of Rivers’ take to keep them competitive in the coming months.
