Brook Lopez is 37 years old, and he will be a free agent this summer. The Milwaukee Bucks will most likely not re-sign him this summer.

Lopez was in trade rumors over the last couple of years, but the Bucks and general manager Jon Horst never traded him. Milwaukee will look to pivot elsewhere at the center position for the 2025-2026 NBA season. One team that needs center help this offseason is the Los Angeles Lakers. Could the Lakers be interested in bringing in Lopez this offseason?
There Is Some Potential Mutual Interest Between Brook Lopez and the Los Angeles Lakers

Gery Woelfel reported on his Twitter page about what kind of potential market Lopez could have for himself this offseason. Woelfel said,
“Brook Lopez will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. So, how much interest will there be for the 37-year-old center? “There’ll be plenty of interest in him,” an NBA executive responded before cynically adding, “I’m sure the Lakers have already talked to him.””
Lopez and Los Angeles would be an interesting fit. It is not a secret that the Lakers need a center, but would they want to go for someone who is near the end of their career, rather than going for someone who is younger? Lopez played in 80 games during the 2024-2025 season with the Bucks. He averaged 13.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 1.8 APG, along with shooting 50.9% from the field.
There is a chance that the Lakers can sign someone younger on the free agent market like Clint Capela or potentially make a trade for a center. If Los Angeles were to sign Lopez, it would be interesting to see how many years and how much money he would get in that deal. The odds are that it would most likely be a one-year deal.
