There’s a significant amount of hype surrounding Jeferson Quero but fans and Pat Murphy will have to wait a little more to see him in the big league as he is still being condition to be ready for it.

The 22-year-old played just one game last season after being hounded by a shoulder injury that required surgery. He returns this season but he will spend time first with Triple-A Nashville as part of his recovery program.
He is one of five players who was sent to the minors. The other guys are Grant Anderson, Carlos Rodriguez, Logan Henderson, and Grant Wolfram.
Manager Pat Murphy said last month that Quero is now at 75 to 80 percent physically right now after he showed up at the camp.
Brewers vice president of player development Cam Castro said back then that they are being careful with Quero’s recovery.

“I think the No. 1 thing in terms of trusting anything after an injury is time and preparation,” he said. “You’ve given this thing adequate time, and you prepared for this moment and relying on those two things.
“We didn’t rush through the calendar. We did this thing responsibly.”
Pat Murphy says Jeferson Quero is his favorite prospect of all time
Quero is a favorite among analysts, currently ranked 47th among minor league prospects.
Murphy has the same feeling about him and he is positive that Quero will be able to overcome the adversity he went through.

“You guys know that Jeferson Quero is maybe my favorite prospect that’s ever been with the Brewers,” said Murphy.
“Having to come back from such a serious injury is daunting, but I believe that if anyone can do it, he can do it. Not too many guys are throwing well with 12 staples in their shoulder, but I’ve been assured that it can be done and I’m banking on him.”
