The Green Bay Packers are set to release a 2022 starter Monday. The Packers played their final preseason game Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks. The Packers have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to trim their 90-man roster down to 53.

Head coach Matt LaFleur suggested Sunday that the Packers will announce the bulk of their roster decisions on Tuesday. However, one decision has been made. According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Packers released punter Pat O’Donnell.

O’Donnell, a long-time member of the Chicago Bears, was signed by the Packers during the 2022 offseason. He started in all 17 games as a punter for the Packers last season. O’Donnell averaged 44.5 yards per punt in 2022. Twenty-four punts (46.2 percent of his punts) landed inside the Packers opponents’ 20-yard line.
The starting punter job will likely go to All-XFL punter Daniel Whelan.
