The Wisconsin Badgers volleyball program kicked off their home slate on Sunday with a thrilling 3-2 win over the Tennessee Volunteers. In attendance were two recruits that the Badgers have their eye on in Morgan Van Wie and Suli Davis. By the end of the afternoon, the Badgers would receive a verbal commitment from Van Wie, a setter from the 2024 recruitment class hailing from Waunakee High School.

What Van Wie Brings to Wisconsin Badgers Volleyball
Coach Kelly Sheffield had previously mentioned the importance of strengthening the setter position for the upcoming season, considering the impending departure of soon-to-be ace queen Izzy Ashburn and MJ Hammill after this season. Van Wie’s commitment stands as a significant step toward addressing this need. Alongside Van Wie, the Badgers have already secured a commitment from Charlie Fuerbringer, the top setter hailing from Hermosa Beach, California.
The Badgers look to Van Wie to add depth to the position. This season for Waunakee, Van Wie is off to a great start averaging 4.3 assists, 2.3 kills and 1.4 digs per set across their 7 games.
Badgers Volleyball 2025 Recruitment is Strong
Suli Davis, in attendance of Sunday’s win, is still on the board for the Badgers. Davis is a 6-2 outside hitter from Euless, Texas, and is considered one of the standout players in the 2025 class. Her performance has earned her the 6th ranking by PrepVolleyball.com and 9th by PrepDig. It is said that she is being pursued by the likes of Southern Cal, and BYU.
A couple of uncommitted recruits will be attending @BadgerVB match today: Morgan Van Wie, a 6-foot setter from Waunakee in the 2024 class; and Suli Davis, a 6-2 OH from Euless, Texas. Davis is ranked No. 9 recruit in 2025 class by PrepDig and No. 6 by PrepVolleyball.
