The Wisconsin Badgers Women’s Hockey team are National Champions. Their late come back against the Ohio State Buckeyes will go down as one of the greatest hockey come backs in college history. Wisconsin would tied up the game 3-3 with just seconds left to go in the third period, just to win it all in overtime.
To say the team is celebrating is an understatement.

During Sunday’s Frozen Four championship game between Wisconsin and Ohio State at Ridder Arena, Kirsten Simms tied the game on a penalty shot and won it in overtime on a rebound to give Wisconsin a 4-3 victory over Ohio State.
To cap a season that saw them set a program record by winning 38 games while only losing once and drawing twice, the Badgers won their eighth women’s hockey title.
This was the third time in three years that the teams met for the title, and the second time that UW won it. In 2023, Simms scored the only goal to lead the team to a 1-0 victory.
