The Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday avoided the upset against the Montana Grizzlies by winning 85-66. The 3-seeded Badgers advanced to the next round of the NCAA Tournament and they eliminated 14th-seeded Montana.

As for the sixth-seeded BYU Cougars, they defeated the 11th-seeded VCU Rams by a final score of 80-71. Wisconsin will face BYU in the second-round of the NCAA Tournament in the East Region. These games were played in Denver, Colorado.

The Badgers will have a chance to get to the Sweet 16 if they can beat the Cougars on Saturday night. The winner of this game will be heading to Newark, New Jersey. The tip-off for this matchup between Wisconsin and BYU will be at 6:45 p.m. CT on CBS.

There is a very good chance that the BYU and Wisconsin matchup will be a high-scoring affair. Five players scored in double figures for the Badgers on Thursday against the Grizzlies. John Blackwell led the way with 19 points. Steven Crowl scored 18 points, Xavier Amos scored 11 points, John Tonje scored 15, and Nolan Winter added 10 points.
Three players scored in double figures for the Cougars against the Rams. Richie Saunders scored 16 points, Egor Denim scored 15 points, and Fousseyni Traore scored 13 points. It would not be a surprise to see a ton of fireworks between the Cougars and the Badgers.
