As the Milwaukee Bucks gear up to face the Houston Rockets on Monday, the team has released their injury list that included four players, two of those being the star duo in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
Both have been listed as probable.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard Probable for Milwaukee Bucks on Monday
Two other players listed for the Bucks were Ryan Rollins and Khris Middleton. Rollins sustained a left shoulder injury in his first start of the season against the Raptors on Tuesday. He’ll miss his third consecutive game on Monday.
Even though the Bucks haven’t been what fans expected them to be going into this season, there’s no doubt that Giannis has continued to be crucial for the team. He’s averaging 32.3 points per game, ranking him first in the league, 12.3 rebounds, ranking him third, and 6.1 assists while also shooting 60% from the field.
He’s only missed one game this season due to a right adductor strain; Him being listed as ‘probable’ is probably the team taking caution, but it’s likely that we’ll see Antetokounmpo on the court on Monday.
As far as Damian Lillard, he suffered a concussion against the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 12 and has been on concussion protocol since. However, signs do point to him being available as well for Monday’s contest, which will be a huge boost to the Milwaukee Bucks’ offense.
Lillard probably won’t play the entire game, as he will likely face some limitations coming off of concussion protocol. In the 10 games he has played this season, Lillard has averaged 26.0 PPG, 4.6 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.0 steals in around 35 minutes per contest.
Khris Middleton still out
As far as Middleton, the veteran has yet to play a game this season due to injuries to both of his ankles. There hasn’t been a definite timetable established for Middleton, but a return doesn’t seem likely in the near future.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Middleton still has a long road ahead of him.
“The big worry in Milwaukee is Khris Middleton. His absence has been deafening for this team. He’s supposed to be your third star. He’s supposed to be the guy that when one of those other stars are struggling, he’s going to be the one to step up, and he has not even progressed to five-on-five yet. [The Bucks] are not sure exactly when he’s going to go to five-on-five,” Charania said.
“[Middleton’s] absence essentially has been much longer than team officials have anticipated. But they are hopeful here over the next couple of weeks, get him on a couple five-on-fives and, and hopefully he can progress to a return.”
The Milwaukee Bucks look to improve to 5-9 after a disappointing loss against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night.
