Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets started the 2024 NFL regular season with two wins in their first three games. It has gone downhill for them since then, as they have won just a game from Week 4 to Week 13.
They are also on a three-game losing skid heading into their Week 14 matchup against Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins on the road this coming Sunday.
There are rumors about Rodgers’ potentially not returning to the Jets in 2025, which put increased attention on what he can do on the field in the team’s final five games of the 2024 campaign. Rodgers, however, feels that his resume speaks for itself regardless of how he does the rest of the way this season.
Either way, Rodgers appears determined to play well in the final five New York outings.
Via Rich Cimini of ESPN:
“If they want me to stay, fantastic,” the four-time MVP said. “If it takes these five games, maybe they don’t know what I bring to the table. But that being said, I’d love to play really frigging well the last five games.”
Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets have a chance to finish the 2024 season strong
The Jets are just 3-9 through 12 games. While they are technically still in playoff contention, the Jets are going to need something short of a miracle to book a spot in the postseason. But at the very least, the future Hall of Famer appears to still be very much interested in helping New York finish the season strong.
After taking on Miami, the Jets will visit the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15 before a home game in Week 16 versus the Los Angeles Rams. A tough showdown against the Buffalo in Orchard Park awaits New York in Week 17 before the Jets conclude their season with a rematch at home opposite the Dolphins.
