Aaron Rodgers could find himself a free agent if the New York Jets cut him loose this summer, despite the $49 million cap hit they’ll face. If it does happen, several NFL teams could call him because he can still play at a high level.
Mina Kimes of ESPN recently listed the Tennessee Titans as a potential Aaron Rodgers destination since the AFC South team doesn’t have great quarterback depth.
“This feels like a potential Aaron Rodgers destination: the Tennessee Titans,” Kimes said at the 2025 Pro Bowl Games. “Because I don’t think they’re gonna draft a quarterback, I do think that they’re gonna go the veteran route—I suspect, and his style of play, that style of offense, does mesh well with Brian Callahan.
“Your priority now is to address the roster. If Aaron Rodgers is playing, you know it’s not for more than a year so your priority would be to bring him in, let’s get the offense going, and then let’s focus on the offensive line, playmakers, and the defense needs work,” she added.
Should the Tennessee Titans go for Aaron Rodgers if given the chance?
The Tennessee Titans were one of the worst teams in the league in the 2024 campaign, as they finished with a woeful 3-14 record. Will Levis and Mason Rudolph took turns at the quarterback position.
The Tennessee Titans have the no. 1 pick of this summer’s NFL Draft, which they can use to get their next franchise quarterback, and there’s a growing buzz that Miami’s Cam Ward could be that guy.
However, if they somehow don’t draft a quarterback with the top pick, signing someone like Rodgers on a short-term, team-friendly deal could help Tennessee right the ship.
