Green Bay Packers star Aaron Jones had to hold back the tears after suffering what appears to be a devastating knee injury on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Pro Bowl running back did all he could to keep his emotions in check but in the end, Jones was not able to do a very good job at it.
The 28-year-old had to cover his head with a towel as he was carted off the field during what was a truly heartbreaking scene for Jones, the team, and of course, the fans.

Aaron Jones #gopackgo
You can see here his left knee bends inward significantly (valgus). This stresses the MCL/ACL and sometimes meniscus. Can’t always tell from video if these structures are torn/severity, especially this crowded view. Hopefully the ACL is spared pic.twitter.com/j8p0xWkSd0

The term “season-ending” was thrown around quite a bit. You can’t really blame the fans after seeing the excruciating extent of Jones’ knee injury.
Positive Development
The good news here is that after the game, head coach Matt LaFleur indicated that he does not believe this is going to be a “long-term” injury for the running back. While we will obviously need to wait for the team’s official statement, at least the fans will have some hope to cling to after LaFleur’s statement here.
Jones himself said after the game that he does not believe it’s an ACL injury, which is obviously a crucial development here.
Either way, we will need to wait for the results of Jones’ tests, which he will need to undergo on Monday.
