2021 has proven to be a very unique NFL season. All year the MVP favorite has been changing to the point where it’s unclear if anyone even wants to win the award. Kyler Murray seemed like he would run away with it for a while. Stafford’s name was atop the conversation early in the year. Derrick Henry was in the mix. However, in week 16 it looks like a three man race that’s really just a two man race. Former Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor is in the mix but it is unlikely a running back will win the MVP. That leaves Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady.
Stats
BetMGM has Rodgers as the favorite over Brady right now with Taylor and Stafford in the distance. Here are the two future hall of famers stats so far this season.
Brady
- QB Record: 10-4
- 67.1 Completion Percentage (404/602)
- 4348 Yards
- 38 Total Touchdowns
- 11 Interceptions
- 7.2 Yards per Attempt
- 310.6 Yards per Game
- 100.4 Passer Rating
- 64.1 QBR
Rodgers
- QB Record: 11-2
- 67.8 Completion Percentage (299/441)
- 3487 Yards
- 33 Total Touchdowns
- 4 Interceptions
- 8.9 Yards per Attempt
- 268.2 Yards per Game
- 110.4 Passer Rating
- 67.3 QBR
Brady is dominating in yards and only has five more total touchdowns than Rodgers. Rodgers missed one game as a result of a positive COVID test and had a terrible outing in the season opener. However, he has a better passer rating and QBR than Tom Brady. Rodgers is unlikely to catch Brady in yards but it’s is worth noting that Brady has significantly more passing attempts than Rodgers. He is averaging 33.9 attempts per game to Brady’s 43.
Rodgers has missed a whole game and is attempting less passes but only trails Brady by five total touchdowns. Rodgers is also playing with a broken toe and hasn’t practiced in almost a month. The only argument against Rodgers could be the yardage numbers. He has turned the ball over less and the Packers are 11-2 with him as the starter. The Packers have the best record in the league and sit atop the conference.
