The #13 Wisconsin Badgers will face its biggest rivals on the road on Tuesday night in BIG10 Conference action when they take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers and tip-off will be at 6 p.m. CT. Wisconsin has a 14-4 overall record and they are still in first place in the conference with a 6-1 record.
As for Minnesota, they have a 12-6 overall record and a 3-4 record in conference play. Whenever these two teams play, throw out the records because the Badgers and the Golden Gophers don’t like each other and anything can happen.
The Wisconsin Badgers and Greg Gard are looking to avoid another road upset this week. They last played on Friday against the Indiana Hoosiers and won that contest 91-79. Wisconsin had four different players score in double figures in that matchup.
Max Klesmit led the way with 26 points and one assist for the Badgers. AJ Storr added 15 points in that contest for Wisconsin and John Blackwell and Steven Crowl also each scored 12 points in the game. Crowl also added eight rebounds and recorded assists against the Indiana Hoosiers.
Players To Watch For on the Minnesota Golden Gophers When Facing the Wisconsin Badgers
The Minnesota Golden Gophers lost their last game on the road against the Michigan State Spartans 76-66. Ben Johnson is the head coach of Minnesota basketball. In Thursday’s contest, only two players scored in double figures for the Golden Gophers.
Dawson Garcia scored 22 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and recorded two assists against the Michigan State Spartans. Mike Mitchell Jr. scored 14 points as well for Minnesota. This is a game where the Wisconsin Badgers have more talent than the Minnesota Golden Gophers on paper.
The question will be can Wisconsin play with energy out of the gates? If they do what they are supposed to do, Minnesota doesn’t have much of a chance to upset them. The Badgers can’t do what they did last week against the Penn State Nittany Lions on the road.
