Wisconsin basketball kept the good times rolling on Monday, as the Badgers extended their win streak to four games after flattening the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 75-63, in Piscataway.
The Badgers’ offense sizzled anew in this Big Ten matchup. After an incredible shooting performance in last week’s win over the Iowa Hawkeyes at home, Wisconsin basketball lit up Rutgers’ defense with a 54.4 percent shooting from the field. That being said, it did not go all that smoothly for the Badgers, who struggled with ball security and saw a couple of key players suffer injuries.
Wisconsin basketball loses two players in Rutgers game due to injuries

Reason to be Concerned: Nolan Winter and Max Klesmit didn’t finish the game dealing with injuries, which occurred within seconds of each other. Winter was tossed to the court on a physical play at 10:08 that was ruled a common foul after review and didn’t play the final 7:37.
Klesmit attempted a three-point shot after the whistle blew but came down on Jeremiah Williams’ foot after the Rutgers guard contested. Klesmit stayed down on the court in pain and walked gingerly to the locker room. He returned to the bench and tried to get loose but didn’t return. Klesmit hasn’t missed a start since arriving at UW (84 games) and while he’s been in a season-long shooting slump, he leads the team in assists (45) and steals (17).
Winter played 23 minutes against Rutgers and scored five points with six rebounds and an assist. Klesmit, on the other hand, had three points, four boards and three assists plus a steal in 24 minutes. Their statuses will be something to monitor for the Badgers, who will next take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers this coming Friday in Madison.
