The Wisconsin Badgers are represented well in the upcoming Pro Bowl games, as their four former players are on the list.
Former Wisconsin Badgers linebackers Zack Baun and Andrew Van Ginkel are part of the NFC roster, representing the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings, respectively. TJ Watt and Jonathan Taylor will represent the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts as part of the AFC roster.
Upon hearing the news, Zack Baun felt a sense of validation for all the hard work he had put in throughout the years.
“It’s all about development. I didn’t come into the league knowing I’d be good at inside linebacker. I knew it’d take time. There were tough times at times, but I kept my head down and kept working,” Baun said recently via Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
“When I was in New Orleans, I was putting in the time, putting in just the same amount of work as the starters were,” he continued. “Just to prepare for a moment like this, my opportunity. And all I had to do was take advantage and just let it fly.”
Former Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Zack Baun is balling for the Philadelphia Eagles this year
Wisconsin Badgers product Zack Baun is enjoying his first full season with the Philadelphia Eagles. The 28-year-old has tallied 151 tackles, 11 of which were for a loss, 3.5 sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, five forced fumbles, and five quarterback hits. Among off-ball linebackers, Baun’s first in forced fumbles, second in tackles, and fifth in tackles for loss.
Zack Baun, who played for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2015 to 2019, is the first Philadelphia Eagles position player to earn a Pro Bowl nod in his first year with the team since Donovan McNabb in 2000 and the first defensive player since Bill Bradley in 1971.
