Grace Egan transferred from Ohio State University to UW-Madison
Redshirt freshman Grace Egan announced prior to the Wisconsin Badgers sweet 16 game in December that she was transferring to UW-Madison. The 6’1″ Sterling, Illinois native has three years of eligibility remaining in which she averaged 2.53 kills and 2.03 digs per set in 2024. Coincidentally, her best performance of the year came against Wisconsin when she delivered 22 kills, but she otherwise reached double digit kill totals nine other times.

More than 80 teams were interested in Grace Egan
According to a report from Badger Extra, more than 80 teams reached out to Grace Egan when the transfer portal opened up. Egan mentioned that her previous experience inside Wisconsin Field House and Coach Kelly Sheffield’s message to her led to her selection of continuing to play volleyball at Wisconsin.
“I have a lot of career goals and things I want to do in my collegiate career. I think when coach Sheffield was saying how much I can achieve and how much he can help me grow my game, because one thing I know is I have a higher potential. Him telling me all these things that I can achieve, that’s when I really truly knew I had to go there.”
Grace Egan is poised for a significant role on the 2025 Wisconsin Badgers volleyball team
As previously mentioned, the Badgers will have two openings at the outside hitter position in 2025. Grace Egan arrives with a full season of experience and a strong track record, positioning her well for a significant role. Along with incoming freshman Madison Quest, who stands at 6’3″, the only other outside hitters on last year’s roster was 5’11” freshman Trinity Shadd-Ceres and 6’0″ freshman Una Vajagic.
