With the 2026 in-state class essentially completed, the Wisconsin Badgers have begun to focus on multiple 2027 in-state targets early.
Cole Reiter, a four-star offensive tackle, and Isaac Miller, a three-star edge rusher, are both considered to be top players within the 2027 Wisconsin class. Reiter holds the second-overall state ranking while Miller is currently the fourth, which could change during the upcoming season for the developing defender.
The 2027 in-state class in Wisconsin is a special one, and the Wisconsin Badgers staff is keen on snagging a piece of the class. Within the 2026 cycle, the Badgers currently hold one commitment from linebacker Ben Wenzel, a three-star prospect who ranks seventh in the state. The top talent in the class, however, has all committed elsewhere despite the Wisconsin staff being linked to the entire class.

Both Reiter and Miller are ideal recruits for the Wisconsin Badgers who are putting a great foot forward in the pursuit of the duo. Reiter is considered to be the top offensive line target for the Badgers within the 2027 recruiting class, and the commitment to recruiting the tackle has only grown as of late.
Miller, on the other hand, has been someone the Badgers see as a versatile defender who possesses potential at multiple positions. The edge rusher is still developing as a defender after previously leaning towards playing tight end full-time.
Wisconsin Badgers Focusing on 2027 In-State Recruits Isaac Miller, Cole Reiter
The 2027 class is a very talent-rich one in Wisconsin and the Badgers have already begun to single out Miller and Reiter in hopes of landing the duo. Often recruits reach a certain point where the Badgers become a smaller offer in comparison to what some other major programs can offer both on and off of the field. The Wisconsin Badgers staff hopes that early, consistent contact with Miller and Reiter can result in potential commitments down the line.
In the case of Miller, Wisconsin could have a difficult time keeping the high three-star recruit close to home in the future. Miller has attended multiple Wisconsin camps and visits, but the edge rusher previously expressed a desire to gain as much exposure as possible. While the Badgers have been close with Miller, the recruit is bound to hit another batch of scholarship offers which could draw the defender farther away from the program.

For Reiter, however, the four-star tackle should be a name to watch moving forward as the staff wholeheartedly believe that the tackle is “the guy” within the 2027 class. Reiter is by all means a priority prospect for the staff and the effort put forth by Wisconsin early on proves just how valuable the tackle must be. Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa State, and Ohio State have also been closely involved with Reiter and will be programs to watch moving forward alongside the Badgers.
