Independence High School stand out Nick Reddish has a total of 21 offers as a Class of 2026 prospect and Wisconsin Badgers will need every ounce of effort from safety coach Jack Cooper to get the player’s signature.
So far, Cooper’s hand in Reddish’s recruitment strategy is commendable.
The 6’6 safety, rated with three star by 247 Sports, only has good words for Cooper who he said makes him want to come back to University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“It had been way too long! I feel like with Coach Cooper, the amount of love that he shows me, it just makes you want to be back at that place. It makes you want to visit again, and see everything that he is talking about,” Reddish said in an interview with Badger247.
Reddish recently announced his Top 5 schools with Wisconsin on the list. The other four were Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame. USC used to be in the chase but were dropped. He will visit these schools in a span of two months (early may to June).
He will announce his commitment date on July 11.
Cooper as Wisconsin Badgers safety head coach
Reddish is probably Cooper’s biggest and most important project right now. The Charlotte standout is currently listed as the No. 61 safety in the 2026 class.
Cooper became the safety coach in January this year, with full faith from head coach Luke Fickell.
“We’re excited to move Coach Cooper into this new role,” Fickell said.

“He’s been with our program for two years and has built relationships in the safeties room, earning the belief and trust of the guys on this team. He’s done a great job for us and has a true understanding of what we’re building here. I know he’ll continue to be a big asset for us moving forward.”
