Wisconsin Badgers guard Jack Janicki is not afraid of big time moments and responsibilities. That’s what he did against Purdue Boilermakers, leaving his teammate John Blackwell impressed.

The freshman guard was an emergency back up point guard for the Badgers after the contentious ejection of Kamari McGee in the first half.
He did not shy away from the challenge as he scored 11 points on 3 out of four shooting from beyond the arc.
His work earned praises not just from the UW community but also from his teammates.
John Blackwell, who scored 11 points in the game as well, thinks what Janicki showed is a preview of a good player that fans will feel lucky to have.

“He’s going to be a really good player,” Blackwell said.
“He’s a guy who just puts his head down, gets in the gym, always shooting shots. He does all the right things to play, doesn’t ever complain about anything, just comes in every day and works.”
Blackwell also commended his teammate’s patience and perseverance to get called up.
Jack Janicki says ceiling is still high for him
The freshman guard, who is a walk-on for Wisconsin despite offers from other programs, is not afraid of big moments and big names in the league.
He managed to keep up with Purdue’s starting guard Braden Smith and that gives him the confidence that he can only get better.
He did that, too, on his first ever official game as a point guard.

“I think I did some decent things at the one,” he said.
“I still think I can get a lot better, but it was nice to be able to roll with the punches and stay on top.”
If his style of play continues, Gard can have a reliable PG once Max Klesmit leaves.
