Wisconsin Badgers: 2026 Iowa Native Quickly Becoming Ideal Forward Target

As the Wisconsin Badgers basketball staff continues to sort through recruits within the 2026 class, one such forward has become a potential target.

Landon Davis, an Iowa native, is a three-star forward in the 2026 class who stands tall at 6-feet-8-inches, and roughly 210-pounds. Davis holds offers from Illinois and Drake but has recently drawn attention from both Wisconsin and Iowa.

Illinois has been perhaps the most aggressive recruiter of Davis thus far as the staff has made a priority out of landing the forward. Wisconsin recently entered the fold and should the Badgers continue to like what they see from Davis on the court, then a scholarship offer will likely materialize before too long which could shift the recruiting process for Davis.

The Wisconsin Badgers are committed to continuing to recruit high school players and that does not just mean offering the top in-state players or players from the surrounding area. Wisconsin is going deep and working to find players who offer the most value on the court in terms of being a fit within the offense.

Davis has not received a ton of attention up to this point and only holds a handful of scholarship offers. The Wisconsin Badgers are paying close attention to Davis and could be the next program to not only offer the forward but to also push significantly for a potential commitment.

On the court, Davis is a capable stretch forward with a quick release when shooting the basketball. The forward is tall and holds a respectable wingspan as well, creating a complex shot that defenders cannot get a hand on. Davis can create jump shots for himself, but the forward thrives shooting the basketball in the corner particularly in catch-and-shoot scenarios.

When shooting the ball, Davis is primarily an outside focused player who aims to hurt a team with his three-point shots before attacking the rim. The forward can drive and score at the rim but needs to continue to develop his interior play moving forward.

Landing a potential commitment from Davis down the line will come down to persistence for the Wisconsin Badgers. Davis is a talented player who has not quite hit a certain level of exposure yet, but could see other big programs join the recruiting process in the near future. If Wisconsin can stick around and keep a close relationship with Davis, landing a commitment could be possible regardless of whether or not other programs begin to pursue the recruit.
