Wisconsin Badgers have with them a stud for the next season after landing commitment from Austin Rapp who had a breakout year last season with the Portland Pilots.

The team beat the lies of Michigan, Iowa, Clemson, and Oregon for the services of Rapp who posted 13.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game in 2024.
The 6’10 forward will serve as a great replacement for Steven Crowl who played his last year of eligibility last season. He is a big man with an outside game as he shoots 35.2 percent from the three.
Rapp will seamlessly be incorporated in the Badgers line-up and that’s what the team considered first in his recruitment.
Head coach Greg Gard said they prioritized the mutual fit that they could have with the Australian.

“We have a lot of mutual connections with Austin and all of our conversations centered on how well he fits Wisconsin and how well Wisconsin fits him.”
Rapp is now the second player from the Oceanaia to commit the Badgers this offseason. The other one is Jackson Ball from New Zealand who will join the program in 2026.
Rapp admires Wisconsin Badgers’ last Final 4 team
Badgers fans recently remembered the time the team won the semifinals of the 2015 NCAA tournament against Kentucky to reach the finals.
That team back then was led by Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker. Remembering those glory days send fans into nostalgia.
Rapp is among those who fondly remember that game.

Talking to Benjamin Worgull of Badgers Blitz, he revealed a deep connection with the team and said that he wants to experience that, too.
“I’ve grown up watching basketball and remember watching the Frank Kaminsky Final Four team at Wisconsin. I’ve always dreamed about playing for a successful and winning program and there couldn’t get one better than Wisconsin.”
