Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team got the national attention but head coach Greg Gard is not too concerned about outside noise.

The NCAA Tournament Selection Committee revealed their Top 16 seeding in the upcoming March Madness and they placed the Badgers to no. 3 seed as the representative of the South.
Joining them in that seed are the Iowa State Cyclones for Midwest, the Kentucky Wildcats for the West, and the Arizona Wildcats for the East.
Gard acknowledged that such selection is a product of their recent success.
“We’re obviously playing good basketball. We’re a really good team and I think we’re getting better,” he said.
However, for him, that’s all about it. The things that really matter are the ones that’s seen on the court and that’s what he wants his player to focus on.

“It’s great for our fans and our alums and obviously we’re getting a lot of national attention right now. But in terms of the work that we have to put in every day, that doesn’t change.”
Greg Gard wants Wisconsin Badgers to keep eyes on the prize
The Badgers are getting recognitions here and there for their collective success, the latest is the AP Top 25 Poll that put them at no. 11.
However, they are not yet done. Gard said he encourages his players to be more laser focused as they are in it for a bigger prize.
“We got a lot of basketball left to play before that day comes,” Gard told reporters.

“That’s the exciting part – that they know there’s a lot more left to come and, you know, that starts with, you know, our next game.”
The team has six games remaining. This week will be a little busier but they got the luxury of playing at home where they lost just once in 13 games.
