Wisconsin Badgers basketball had a strong run in the Big Ten but instead of getting rewarded for that, they were given a tough schedule, something Greg Gard said he already proposed to be fixed.

The Badgers will face Montana Grizzlies on Thursday afternoon, an assignment many thought was unfair for Wisconsin since they are among the ranked team in the NCAA tournament.
Some also expected them to play in their home state Milwaukee for getting the No. 3 seed in the field.
Gard suggests that they deserve to play on Friday instead of a day earlier, and that is something that should apply to higher seeded teams.
“That’s a bigger issue,” he said as quoted by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

“Michigan got a Thursday game, too, right? That is a bigger issue that we’ve brought up with the conference because we’re the last game on Sunday. Regardless of who was going to be in it, that’s always been my conversation with the league on that. Whoever is playing here on Sunday should try to get a Friday (game day).”
Greg Gard not dwelling on unfortunate schedule
Badgers went deep in the Big Ten Tournament. They took care of the business against lowly Penn State Nittany Lions and then got their revenge against UCLA that beat them one month ago.
They beat conference no. 1 Michigan State Spartans in the semis but they bowed to Michigan Wolverines in the finals.

That defeat to the Wolverines so was the tight schedule. Gard is looking at the latter differently instead of moping about it.
He thinks returning to court right away might make his team more focused.
“A quick turnaround might be what’s good for us,” Gard said. “You turnaround quick and go play.”
