Grafton standout Alex Huibregtse has decided to leave the Wright State Raiders and among the team on the lookout for his services is his own state’s Wisconsin Badgers.

Badgers Notes reported that the Badgers have made their intent to have Huibregtse known.
“A source familiar with the situation informed BadgerNotes that Wisconsin, Iowa State, and several other Power 4 programs have contacted Wright State transfer guard Alex Huibregtse since he entered the transfer portal,” the publication reported on Sunday.
It added that that both camps are now working to fix their schedule to accommodate the 6’3 guard.
“While no official visits to Madison have been scheduled yet, Huibregtse is in the process of arranging them as he looks to find the right place to write the final chapter of his college basketball career.”

Huibregtse has one more college eligibility left. He played 32 games for the Raiders last season and averaged 13.5 point and around three rebounds and assists in 33 minutes.
The stat that stands out the most for him is his outside shooting, finishing the season with 42.3% from the field and 37.5% from the three point line (90 attempts).
Wisconsin Badgers’ edge over other programs to get Alex Huibregtse
Wisconsin Badgers is known for having in-state players commit to them up to their senior years. Best and latest example is Carter Gilmore who had a memorable senior year.
That might be the edge that Badgers have over other programs when it comes to chase for Huibregtse’s signature.

The kid hails from Grafton where he was named to the Wisconsin First Team All-State honors in Division 2. He finished his last high school season averaging 24.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.
Another thing that should make UW-Madison a great destination for him is the role he will fill with the team.
The team no longer have starting guards/wings John Tonje and Max Klesmit and that opens up a huge hole in the team’s backcourt.
