The Wisconsin Badgers had a top 2027 target on campus for a camp last month and have kept a close line of communication with the staff since.
Caden Jones, a four-star quarterback from California, has been one of the more active recruits within the 2027 class thus far. Jones holds 38 scholarship offers from programs such as Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, and Oregon.
Wisconsin is one of the newest programs to join the recruitment of Jones, offering the quarterback a scholarship in May. When asked about what the recruiting process has been like so far, Jones responded, “I have been fortunate to receive a lot of attention. There are several big name schools and coaches and several group of 5 programs and I am thankful for all of the coaches who took the time to offer me.”
While much of the process is still ahead of the recruit, Jones already has some major factors that could lead to a commitment nailed out. The quarterback stated, “The biggest factors in my recruitment are the relationships with the coaches and really the entire program, along with the process for which they will help me develop into an NFL level QB.”
Wisconsin Badgers 2027 Target Caden Jones Exits Short Madison Trip Impressed
The Wisconsin Badgers staff wanted to bring Jones onto campus for a skills camp in order to get a closer look at the quarterback, and both parties left the camp on a positive note. The Badgers were impressed by the quarterback and have kept an open line of communication with the recruit since the contact period opened.
Jones, however, left the camp impressed with the staff and excited to watch how the team performs during the upcoming season. Jones stated, “I really enjoyed visiting Wisconsin and I am excited to watch their success next year!”
Previously, Jones earned a scholarship from quarterbacks coach Kenny Guiton during a practice in California. Jones stated, “[Guiton] came by our school during the spring and stood all day in the rain and watched our practice and watched me throw. That really stood out to me!”
Guiton invited Jones out to the June camp during the practice visit in May that resulted in a scholarship for the quarterback.

On the field, Jones is an accomplished quarterback already even with two years of high school football left ahead. The Wisconsin Badgers are eager to find a more mobile and capable quarterback in the 2027 class, and Jones could be the perfect option given his awareness and maturity. Jones feels pressure very well and can change his arm angle on the run to make accurate throws.
One aspect of play that really stands out for the Wisconsin Badgers staff in regards to Jones is the focus of the quarterback. Jones can be on the run, under pressure, or running down field and yet the quarterback is constantly focused on where the play should go and what to do next.
