The NBA All-Star Game is approaching rapidly, and the Eastern Conference starters have been announced.
The current starting five: Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Many NBA fans have their Eastern Conference reserve predictions, but Damian Lillard should be on every single list.
Why He’s Deserving
The 34-year-old future hall of famer is averaging 25.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.3 assists in the 2024-25 season. He’s twelfth in the league in scoring per game, and tenth in assists.
Just from these statistics alone, Damian Lillard should be an All-Star for the ninth time in his NBA Top 75 career.
The Milwaukee Bucks now sit at fourth place in the Eastern Conference after starting out to an abysmal 2-8 record. Many people doubted the Bucks for this start, but they’ve clawed back into contention.
Outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lillard has been the consistent piece to propel Milwaukee to a great comeback to the season. His hard work cannot get unnoticed in the All-Star conversation.
Lillard’s NBA resume:
- 8x NBA All-Star
- NBA Cup Champion
- NBA All-Star Game MVP
- All-NBA First Team
- 4x All-NBA Second Team
- 2x All-NBA Third Team
- NBA Rookie of the Year
- NBA All-Rookie First Team
- NBA 75th Anniversary Team
- 2x NBA Three-Point Contest Champion
Another All-Star appearance will just add to Lillard’s stacked resume, and he is deserving of it for the 2024-25 season.
