Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold has been one of the biggest stories in the NFL this season. Darnold completely torched the Green Bay Packers’ defense on Sunday afternoon by completing 33-of-43 passes for 377 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. The Vikings won the game over the Packers 27-25.
Darnold has won 14 games as the starting quarterback of the Vikings this season. He only won 13 games with the New York Jets in three seasons with the franchise.
Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Sam Darnold Makes Statement After the Win Against the Green Bay Packers
After the win against the Packers on Sunday, Darnold spoke to the media after the game. Not only has Darnold had major success this season for the Vikings, but another story has been Minnesota’s defense. They slowed down Jordan Love in this game by Love only completing 19-of-30 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown.
Sam Darnold said to the media after the game about the offense and defense of the Vikings this season:
“We all feed off of each others energy and it’s going to continue to be that way.”
It has been that way for Minnesota all season long. Darnold so far this season has completed 68.1% of his passes for 4,153 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. This is the best season of his NFL career. A lot of his success has to do with head coach Kevin O’Connell. Darnold could very well be the quarterback for the Vikings again next season no matter what happens with J.J. McCarthy’s injury progress this offseason.

It will be interesting to see if the Vikings can get the number one seed in the NFC. They will have to beat the Detroit Lions on the road next week to get the first-round bye. If not, Minnesota will head on the road in the NFC Wild Card Round and that is something that they do not want to do.
