The Wisconsin Badgers are busy during the offseason trying to figure out next year’s roster through the transfer portal. Wisconsin has found players at the quarterback position and they will look to fix the roster through other positions as well.
One player who was in the transfer portal was former Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jayden Ballard. Ballard spent his last four seasons with Ohio State.
Former Ohio State Buckeyes Wide Receiver Jayden Ballard Commits To the Wisconsin Badgers
Ballard has been with the Buckeyes for the last four seasons, but he has not had much production with them. On Wednesday, according to Evan Flood of 247sports, the former Buckeyes wide receiver committed to play for the Wisconsin Badgers next season.
Jayden Ballard caught two passes for 18 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 9.0 yards per reception. He will look to make an impact with Wisconsin in 2025. He is 6’2″ and weighs 195 lbs. His best season was in 2022 with eight receptions for 155 yards and one touchdown, along with averaging 19.4 yards per catch that season.

Why? Badgers never have a QB that will put them over the top. They have great run game and defense but need a real QB to contend for national championship.

So basically all of Pauling’s snaps will go to Trech and CJs will go to Ballard. I’m fine w that

This is why I don’t worry when players transfer out of Wisconsin, there are always going to be guys transferring in. Going to miss Pauling, but the wheel spins on and it feels like they got a good one here with Jayden Ballard, a former top 5 WR recruit in the country.

247 writeup, at the time of his commitment to OSU while still in high school, said he was potentially a “2nd-3rd round draft prospect.”
Reality? 4 years at OSU:
11 receptions, 177 yards, 0 TD’s, 1 fumble (but was recovered by OSU).— DBP aka Sasquatch (@DBPtheJust) December 19, 2024
It will be interesting to see how much play time he will get with the Wisconsin Badgers next season. If he doesn’t make much of an impact, he is just another body within the program.
