Khris Middleton can let his game defend his name but since he is injured, his fans and former Milwaukee Bucks teammates will do it for him – like Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
Khash Money, who is yet to play this season, was recently subjected to mocking by former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, comparing him to Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell of the Los Angeles Lakers.
For context, Arenas was discussing the Bucks’ struggle early in the season and when someone brought up the fact that the struggle may have something to do with Middleton’s absence. The Washington Wizards great is not convinced and suggested that it feels like Lakers fans waiting for role players like Reaves and Russell.
The first man to come to K-Midd’s defense was Bucks legend Brandon Jennings who was sitting right beside Arenas in the show.
Fans were also quick to point out the obvious about Middleton’s difference from the two Lakers players, that he is not a role player but a third option who led them in the 2024 NBA playoffs.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo thinks it’s only for entertainment
Thanasis Antetokounmpo would not let the issue die without his take.
In his podcast, the former Bucks player first defended Reaves and Russell against Jennings’ claim that they are ‘bum’.
As for Arenas’ Middleton take, he thinks the former NBA star only made such statement for entertainment.
“Gilbert knows basketball. Gil, there’s no way you can be serious about this. The guy averaged 20 points per game. He’s that guy. Undeniable impact.”
Thanasis continues to be active for the Bucks this season despite not being part of the team anymore.
He is currently recovering from an Achilles injury but is present in Bucks’ home games to support his brother Giannis Antetokounmpo.
