The Green Bay Packers are 11-5 this season and they will face the Chicago Bears (4-12) before the playoffs begin. It will be interesting to see if Green Bay will play the starters this week against Chicago or not.
The Packers will either face the Los Angeles Rams or the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the playoffs. Green Bay can either be the seventh seed or the sixth seed in the NFC.
CBS Sports Provides 1 New Year’s Resolution For the Green Bay Packers
With 2025 right around the corner, CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin provided New Year’s Resolutions for each NFL team. For the Green Bay Packers, Benjamin said:
“Strengthen the perimeters. This is more geared toward the offseason, but the brittleness of the wide receiver group and secondary showed in Green Bay’s second loss to Minnesota ahead of the playoffs.”
This is the correct answer for the Packers. They still do not have a true number-one wide receiver. For the second straight season, no one will go over 1,000 yards receiving for the Green Bay Packers. Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs are nice complementary receivers but they are not number ones.
They could very well trade Christian Watson this offseason. As for the cornerback position, Jaire Alexander could be cut at the end of the 2024 NFL season. Eric Stokes won’t be re-signed. They will need to draft cornerbacks.
Finding A Number 1 Wide Receiver
If the Cincinnati Bengals do not re-sign Tee Higgins, is there a chance that Green Bay could sign Higgins? He would be the number one wide receiver in the Packers offense for Jordan Love.
There is a chance that he could stay with the Bengals, but there will be many suitors for him. There is no question that the Green Bay Packers should fix its perimeter woes this offseason by signing Tee Higgins.
