The #12 St John’s Red Storm defeated the #11 Marquette Golden Eagles on Tuesday night by a final score of 70-64 at Madison Square Garden. The Red Storm is one of the biggest stories in college basketball this season because of head coach Rick Pitino.
St. John’s could be a very dangerous team in March Madness and they are the favorites to win the regular season title and also the Big East Tournament title. It is going to be interesting to see how the St. John’s Red Storm will be for the remainder of the college basketball season. St John’s will next face the UCONN Huskies on the road on Friday night.

After the game, Pitino had a response to the fanbase chanting they wanted UCONN. He said:
“They’re drunk.”
Pitino understands that it is a big game on Friday night on the road between the Red Storm and the Huskies. UCONN has won back-to-back national titles and Dan Hurley is one of the best coaches in college basketball. Rick Pitino will need to have his guys focused for that matchup.

One of the fans is correct that Rick Pitino does not want to give Dan Hurley any bulletin board material ahead of Friday’s game. UCONN has enough motivation to win the game because they are not the same team as last year. St. John’s wants to prove to the Huskies that the league runs through them this year and not UCONN.
