The Green Bay Packers will face the Chicago Bears on the road this weekend after the bye week. Green Bay is 6-3 this season and is currently the seventh seed in the NFC. As for Chicago, they are 4-5 this season and are out of the playoff picture again.
The Packers have won 10 straight games against the Bears, and it will be interesting to see if that trend continues on Sunday. Chicago has not beaten Green Bay since the 2018 season.
Chicago Bears Fire Offensive Coordinator Shane Waldron Ahead Of the Green Bay Packers Matchup
To no surprise, Chicago made a change after losing another game this weekend against the New England Patriots 19-3. Matt Eberflus, the head coach of the Bears mentioned after the game that there would be a change to the team ahead of the Green Bay Packers matchup.
Chicago decided to fire offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, according to sources who told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. They are on a three-game losing streak. In the last three games, the Bears have scored a total of 27 points. This was not going to cut it with massive changes to the offense this past offseason, especially since they drafted quarterback Caleb Williams number one overall in the 2024 NFL Draft from USC.
Some fans believed that the Bears fired the wrong head coach on Tuesday morning. There was no question a move had to be made. Another possibility was benching Caleb Williams, but Matt Eberflus said on Monday that was not happening. Thomas Brown was elevated to offensive coordinator after the Shane Waldron firing.

Firing him and he takes the playbook with him. Leave it up to a 2-15 play caller with new plays. Gonna be horrible

Free Caleb.

Big change for the Bears. Thomas Brown could bring a fresh approach to the offense

This was Waldron’s first season with the Bears as offensive coordinator. When a team fires its offensive coordinator, it usually means that the head coach is on the hot seat. It will be interesting to see if this move works against the Green Bay Packers, but Chicago appears to be lost ever since the loss on the Hail Mary against the Washington Commanders.
