It was well-documented how Jrue Holiday felt offended that he was traded away by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023 to the Portland Traiblazers – and then moved to the Boston Celtics. He and his wife did not like it because they were left in the dark.

“A warning would’ve been cool,” he told reporters in November of 2023.
Bucks fans tried to troll him last month after he was traded again to Portland, but turned out, he does not need to feel upset.
This is because Celtics basketball president of operations Brad Stevens took the time to inform him of what was about to come. For that, he is thankful to organization.
“I was at home in California. I ended up getting a call from Brad, and he ended up telling me a little bit before,” he said during his introductory press conference on Tuesday.
He also went back to the first time he was traded there and said that he appreciates still being a desirable play for the Portland organization.

“I was excited. I knew that obviously I got traded here before, so it was kind of full circle, talking to Chauncey (Billups) about it, talking to Joe (Cronin) about it and I really do appreciate what they did the first time around.”
The moment Milwaukee Bucks traded Jrue Holiday
Not a lot of people saw Holiday getting traded by the Bucks. After all, he was the last piece of the puzzle that they needed to complete their title aspirations in 2021.
However, the prospect of getting Damian Lillard was too inviting and even Jrue, who got his 2nd NBA title in 2024 with the Celtics, said he will give the trade a green light.
What he and his wife hated was the manner it was done.
Lauren Holiday, she herself an accomplished sports star, blasted the Bucks for not informing them about the development. She said Jrue was just napping at home when they learned about it on the internet.

Holiday’s influence in the city is huge with their charity works in the Wisconsin community from time to time.
“This isn’t new. We’ve been traded before. Each time we’ve felt something different but this time it crushed me,” said Lauren on an Instagram post.
“I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I’m not sharing this to bash anyone. I’m sharing this so people can see the humans behind the business transactions. Because contrary to the cliche, it’s personal, meaning there are people’s lives that are affected. It’s never ‘just business.’”
