Sarah Franklin is one of six rookies in LOVB this year, referencing players who came straight from NCAA volleyball to the professional ranks. The other five are Jess Mruzik, Lexi Rodriguez, Madisen Skinner, Onye Ofoegbu, and Sophie Fischer. Together this group is called the LOVB six.
Of the LOVB six, Franklin, formerly of the Wisconsin Badgers, and Mruzik, previously of 2024 National Champion Penn State Nittany Lions, are leading all of LOVB in two important offensive metrics.

Through two weeks, Franklin is leading LOVB in kills with 45. Her kills/set average is five. She additionally is second in total points, which is an accumulation of kills, blocks, and aces, with 48. This averages out to 5.33 points/set.

Jess Mruzik has also been a force offensively
Fellow rookie Jess Mruzik, who plays for LOVB Houston, has also been a force offensively. She is second in kills with 42 while averaging 4.5 kills/set. In regard to total points scored, she is the league leader with 53 (5.88 points/set).

When will Sarah Franklin and Jess Mruzik square off against one another?
These two outstanding rookies will not meet until week four of the LOVB season. Their first match up will come on Wednesday, January 29 with Madison playing at home. During the regular season, the teams will meet two more times after that, with match ups on Saturday, March 8 and Saturday, April 5.
