The Wisconsin Badgers are looking for a new starting quarterback for the 2025 season after Braedyn Locke and Tyler Van Dyke entered the transfer portal. Both of those quarterbacks started games for the Badgers last season.
It will be interesting to see if the Wisconsin Badgers find their starting quarterback through the transfer portal for the 2025 season. One name to watch for is former California Golden Bears quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
The Wisconsin Badgers Are In Play For Quarterback Fernando Mendoza Through the Transfer Portal
Wisconsin is going to be active through the transfer portal to find a quarterback for the 2025 season. According to Pete Nakos of on3, Fernando Mendoza is looking at Wisconsin, Indiana, UCLA, and Georgia.
Mendoza was a sophomore last year with the California Golden Bears. He is 6’5″ and weighs 225 lbs. Last season, Fernando Mendoza completed 68.7% of his passes for 3,004 yards,16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. If Wisconsin were to land him, it would be a big win for the football program because they need to win games in the BIG10 Conference next season.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes Mendoza to choose a new home. Wisconsin needs to find hope and optimism for the 2025 season.

Wisconsin and Indiana are the only real players here. Don’t worry about the UGA ucla nonsense.

If Mendoza came to Wisconsin, there is no question that he would be the starting quarterback for them in 2025. Carter Smith and Mabrey Mettauer could both develop behind him in the meantime.
