The Green Bay Packers have an 11-5 record this season and they will be facing the Chicago Bears (4-12) in Week 18. Chicago has lost 10 straight games ever since starting the season 4-2. Green Bay is the seventh seed in the NFC entering the final week of the 2024 NFL season.
There will be some questions as to whether or not head coach Matt LaFleur should play the starters next week before the playoffs. The Green Bay Packers can only be the sixth or the seventh seed in the NFC.
Green Bay Packers Fans Want Starters To Rest In Week 18 Against the Chicago Bears
It has felt like a long time since Green Bay rested starters during the final week of the NFL regular season. The only way that the Packers can get the sixth seed in the NFC is if they win against Chicago next week and if the Washington Commanders lose against the Dallas Cowboys.
The chances of Washington losing to Dallas feel slim. Some Packers fans think it doesn’t matter who they play in the first round and that resting starters is more important than beating the Chicago Bears next week. Here is what some Green Bay fans said once the game-time was announced for the Bears matchup:
Just sit everyone; odds of Washington losing to Dallas is very low. Gonna need everyone to have even a chance in Philly.

I’m more focused on Washington and Dallas rather than our game. It doesn’t matter how much we win, it all depends on how the commanders decide to play

Looks like you guys wanted to face Philly in the wildcard

We gonna have to go to Philly with Eric stokes and Nixon as our top corners we all know how this is ending regardless

Doesn’t matter. This game is meaningless unless Dallas can pull off a miracle and sweep Washington

This game will kick off at NOON CT on Fox against the Chicago Bears. If the Green Bay Packers are the seventh seed, they will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the NFL Playoffs.
The Case For Not Resting Jordan Love
It is understandable why Green Bay fans would want Malik Willis to start against the Chicago Bears instead of Jordan Love. However, playing Willis next week would not be in the best interest of the Packers. They need Jordan Love to play well against Chicago heading into the playoffs.
Love struggled against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. He completed 19-of-30 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown. It would feel like a surprise if head coach Matt LaFleur decided to rest some starters against the Chicago Bears.
