Two former Milwaukee Bucks players had some sort of ‘full circle’ moment after the 2024-25 season as they found themselves together in one team after being traded basically for each other. Jrue Holiday and Damian Lillard are teammates now after they were swapped for each other in 2023 and Portland Trailblazers fans should feel excited about it.

Holiday was shipped by the Boston Celtics to Portland which was where he was sent to by the Bucks two years ago to get Dame.
Lillard, meanwhile, signed back with his former team after getting waived by the Bucks.
It’s like two exes getting together and becoming friends. Holiday has been plotting this for so long.
In his introductory conference as new member of the Rip City, the two-time All-Star said it has been his dream to be on the same squad as Lillard.
“Obviously, Dame loves Portland and he’s been here for years and I know his family is here,” Holiday said.

“To be able to play with him on the same team is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, even before I left New Orleans, that was something that I’ve always wanted to do. Being able to do it back here, especially with a team that Dame has really put on his back for a long time is really cool.”
Jrue Holiday will have to wait for that
It would be great to see the two play with each other. One is a super scorer and the other is an elite defender. However, that won’t happen this season.
Lillard will sit out the 2025-26 season to fully recover from the ACL injury he incurred during the playoffs with the Bucks.
Portland knew about this and still they signed him for $42 million for three years.

“Damian Lillard will use the entire 2025-26 season to rehab the Achillies tear, and then return for the Portland Trail Blazers make his reunion and return in that arena in 2026-27,” NBA insider Shams Charania reported last week.
“Now he’s gonna be in Portland. Be able to rehab there. Spend time with the community there. Be the leader for a young team.”
