Aaron Rodgers is not retiring yet and will play for the Pittsburgh Steelers this 2025 season and team’s safety DeShon Elliot is probably the one among those who were most shocked that the one-time Super Bowl winner chose their team.

The four-time MVP is entering his 21st NFL season by joining Mike Tomlin’s quad in hopes of capturing his second Super Bowl.
The two camps were first linked in February with mixed reactions. Some celebrated this rumor while some thought Rodgers should stay away from the Steelers. One guy who is in the “stay away from us” camp happened to be Elliot.

Imagine the shock he had when the deal was completed last June 6.

Steelers probably don’t have any issues with Elliot as they signed him to a two-year extension worth $12.5 million on June 16
DeShon Elliot apologized to Aaron Rodgers
Elliot has no choice but to change tunes now that he is teammates with A-Rod.
The 28-year-old safety said he already apologized to his new quarterback. He even now calls him the Greatest of All Time.
“I’m a troll,” Elliot said in a video published in the team’s website.
“He’s an All-Pro, he’s a GOAT. He’s gonna be a gold-jacket guy one day.”

He also broke down their relationship after everything.
“Honestly, when he got here, we communicated,” Elliot Shared.
“He’s a great person and a great football player so whatever the media’s put out there is B.S. I respect him a lot and I told him and I apologized to him for things I was saying about him. Because honestly, he’s a great man and he has a great heart. So, I appreciate him and he’s funny as hell.”
Training camp has started for the Steelers and Rodgers and Elliot got to know each other well in one of the scrimmages where the latter intercepted his pass.
It’s really funny how fate works.
