Most of the discussion concerning Aaron Rodgers and his move to join Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are about his skills and whether he can bring the Super Bowl to the team once again.

Expectations are high Pittsburgh and it is mostly because of the four-time MVP. He is seen as the difference maker this time after the team tried and failed with other quarterbacks in the past seasons.
For former NFL player turned analyst Harry Douglas, one should also consider who he will be working with. He is specifically talking about the pedigree of the coaches.
“One of the things to look at when it comes to Aaron Rodgers being in Pittsburgh is [Rodgers himself],” Douglas said in the Get Up show by ESPN.
“When he became a starting quarterback, Mike McCarthy was going into his third season. When he was with the Jets, Robert Saleh was going into his third year. This is the first time in his career he’s going to have a head coach with a lot of cache.”

Tomlin is indeed one of the most decorated coaches in the league. He’s been with the Steelers since 2007 and has won one Super Bowl already.
Aaron Rodgers’ respect for Mike Tomlin
Rodgers himself has already declared that Tomlin is among the main reasons why he signed up with the Steelers.
Many thought that Rodgers was about to abandon Pittsburgh in months before he confirmed signing due to his silence but turned out, he and Tomlin remained connected all throughout.
“I had conversations with Mike T every single week,” Rodgers said, via Ross McCorkle of SteelersDepot.com. “It was really through those conversations that this became a reality.

“Most people who come to the Steelers talk about one of the reasons being Mike T. I can say that was right at the top. The conversations we have, [it] felt like you were talking to an old friend.”
They have established a relationship even before anything becomes official and that’s something that should contribute to their on-field relationship once the season starts.
